Power Workshop Information Flow - The first step into your digital future
SCHULER Consulting drives digitalization in the furniture and timber construction industry and develops tailor-made roadmaps for companies to master the digital transformation.
We focus on analyzing the consistency of information in your core processes from the office to production - in other words, from incoming orders to shipping. We then work with you to evaluate the current situation and identify optimization potential. We work with you to develop the optimal and appropriate strategy for your company. With our Power Workshop, we support you in selecting and expanding your individual solution for the future. Together, we identify your options for digitalizing your core processes and provide you with a roadmap for mastering the step towards digitalization. With the concept for your ideal organization, you receive a plan that includes an IT concept and software selection in addition to the organizational structure.
Digital Value Stream Optimization - Clarity on the value stream and intralogistics
Increasing the efficiency of the entire production is a daily challenge for manufacturing companies. Consistent production data acquisition is often not possible in a heterogeneous machine park. Influencing factors such as process times and transport routes remain in the dark. SCHULER Consulting's Digital Value Stream Optimization makes material and goods flows visible by means of an indoor tracking system and records machine data through the use of external sensor technology, regardless of manufacturer and year of manufacture. All production data, including data from existing systems (e.g. ERP, MDE, MES), flow into a digital value stream dashboard. This data is the basis for the targeted and continuous optimization of production.
Strategic Production Development - Planning the optimal production, organization and processes
Whether new construction on a greenfield site, conversion or expansion planning - the engineers at SCHULER Consulting plan and develop production facilities worldwide. SCHULER Consulting develops a strategic roadmap, i.e. a comprehensive overall concept, on the basis of which the entrepreneur can make the necessary investment decisions based on facts.
At LIGNA, the team of consultants will be presenting how manufacturers can meet the current challenges and make their production fit for the future. This includes defining the optimum material and production flow, developing the appropriate technological options, planning the positioning of machines, warehouses and workstations as well as production expansion options for the company's long-term goals.
Our Aprroach
- Taking up the corporate vision and defining concrete goals
- Detailed product analysis and product optimization if necessary
- Capacity calculation (target quantities)
- Development of the ideal production and technology concept
- Rough planning: several block layout variants
- Comparison of variants in terms of investment, space, personnel requirements and return.
- Summary as a comprehensive decision-making template for the entrepreneur
- Detailed planning of the selected concept (detailed layout planning with intralogistics, warehouse design, material and production flow as well as capacity planning and profitability calculation).
Power Workshop Production Optimization - Concrete strategies for immediate implementation
Continuous growth and changes to objectives and framework conditions often go hand in hand with the further development of established structures. The Power Workshop offers a strategic roadmap for the further development of your organization and structures. Together, we develop an action plan on site that is tailored to your corporate goals, processes, production and organization. We also use methods and strategies such as OEE and Lean Six Sigma. Our aim is to identify potential for increasing efficiency and performance. The Power Workshop Production Optimization is your decision-making basis for taking suitable measures and aligning your company for the long term.
Possible Focus Areas
- Products: How can design details be simplified or streamlined? Is it possible to design components in a modular way?
- Production principle: Does order-based production with "batch size 1" fit my order structure? Or does it make sense for me to produce parts on interim stock? What changes do I introduce?
- Material flow and machine positioning: How can I make parts and batches flow more efficiently through my production in the future?
- Logistics in production: Which transport methods for raw materials, components and auxiliary materials will be suitable for me?
- Organisation: How do I ensure that information flows correctly and accurately from order entry to dispatch, even in times of change?
Design to Cost - Transparent design of your product manufacturing costs
Set cost targets and optimize cost factors in prefabricated timber construction in a targeted manner - "Design to Cost" reduces product costs through systematic, targeted adaptation of products and manufacturing processes. We quickly determine the actual individual product costs, identify the cost drivers and compare these with best-practice calculations in order to show you targeted optimization options during the development process. "Design to Cost" provides you with cost transparency from product to production and increases your competitiveness.
Power Workshop Corporate Finance - Identify potential through practical controlling and take measures directly
Product and variant diversity as well as increasing price pressure are just some of the requirements for companies in the furniture and timber construction industry. And these are presenting more and more companies with major challenges. This makes it all the more important for you as a manufacturer to keep an eye on costs, identify potential and exploit it. By means of cost and balance sheet analysis, or in short with our Power Workshop Finance, potentials can be uncovered and the company can be compared with the industry-specific key figures (benchmark).
